Bangkok is probably your first port of call and gateway to your Thai golfing adventure. Bangkok is home for more than 10 million people and is now a truly international world capital. There are some fabulous five star hotels along the Chao Phraya River as well as a wonderful selection of three and four star hotels. Bangkok has a feast of attractions. There are over 400 glittering Buddhist temples and the Grand Palace is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. The shopping is a reason to visit in itself and many come to have clothes tailor made at a fraction of the cost back home.
Golf in Bangkok - Over the last 20 years Bangkok has developed into a golf destination its own right with over 40 courses within an hour's drive of the city centre. The price for green fees is considerably cheaper than in Europe and many of the courses have been designed by such names as Nicklaus, Faldo, Player, Dye to name but a few. Caddies are compulsory at almost every course and they are usually very well trained women and who, for 18 holes, become a butler, a valet, a cheerleader, a partner and a strategist! They provide cool wet towels and bright, wide smiles. The caddies are what makes golf in Thailand unique and so memorable.
