Myrtle Beach Courses
Wild Wing Plantation is a 72-hole golf
resort that gives you a choice of four great courses - Hummingbird, Woodstork, Falcon and Avocet. The resort encompasses 1,050 acres of natural
beauty and splendour of a standard that we have rarely found anywhere. This
resort is dedicated to the game of golf, and each course has its own distinct
personality. They are classed as four of the most demanding courses you
can play, especially off the back tees! What’s more you don’t
have to spend a lot to play these great courses. Take a look at our 2nd
tee package and you’ll see what we mean.
If you enjoy resort type hotels, then stay at Litchfield
Beach and Golf Resort where you will receive generous discounts on
Litchfield CC, Riverclub, Willbrook, MB National South and West, Waterway
Hills, Kings North and Long Bay. Discounts like these are well worth considering
when planning your holiday.
Everyone has different views about golf courses, but our choice of the
top 10 Myrtle Beach courses to play would be Tidewater, Glendornach, Grand
Dunes, Kings North, Wild Wing Avocet and Woodstock, Wachasaw East, The International
Club, Prestwick and Long Bay.
If we were limiting ourselves to just five, we’d go for Tidewater,
Grand Dunes, Kings North, Wild Wing Avocet and the International World Tour.
At the latter you can play 27 holes inspired by some of the world’s
most famous layouts, including Pine Valley, Augusta National, St. Andrews
and many more.
We found that most courses offer a same day ‘replay’ at an
extremely discounted rate. So if you want to play 27 or even 36 holes a
day this would be a good way to do it. We recommend an early morning tee
time, so you can have a quick lunch in the clubhouse before going back out
on the course again. You can only organise this package on the day and many
courses just charge for the cart on the 2nd round. And here’s another
great tip. We found that some golf courses offer discounted rates for afternoon
play on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of each week. For any of these special
rates please ask our sales team who will be happy to advise you. It is also
worth remembering that many courses ‘double tee’, meaning they
start on both the 1st and the 10th tee. Tee times are available from 7.15am-
9.15am and after 12.00. Not many courses single tee so don’t expect
a 10.30 tee time. Exceptions to this rule are the 4 Wild Wing courses, which
single tee all year.
Don’t forget that Myrtle Beach has over 130 golf courses to choose
from in its 60 miles of coastline. There are courses for every standard
of golfer and every budget.
Hilton Head The Robert Trent Jones Course
is well-known for its ocean views. It was extensively renovated in 2002
and remains one of our favourites. The Arthur
Hills course offers a continously rolling layout with dramatic elevation
changes set to challenge even the low handicappers. The Fazio course is
consistently in excellent condition with a variety of demading par 4s.
Another poular course is the Old
Carolina, which was formely the site of a privately owned horse farm
and still displays all the charm of its past. From the moment you drive
down the oak lined driveway toward the orginal horse barn, you will relise
that you are in one of the area's most interesting and unique golf settings.
Just like Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head offers a large choice
of golf courses at varying prices and the above is just a small selection.
If you would like more advice and help in putting together a package to
suit your budget, just give the Bill Goff sales team a call and we will
tailor your quote. Please note that most golf tee times can only be booked
60 days in advance.
