Area Description
If you are considering golf holidays in South Africa and you're looking
for a resort that has it all, we don't think you can beat Sun City. What's
more, lots of other people clearly feel the same way about the place.
It's worldwide for its unique location and its offer of the ultimate African
experience in a single resort. Welcome to golf holidays South Africa style!
We love its mixture of total luxury and natural wild surroundings. It's
set in the North West region of South Africa and is surrounded by mountains
and the deep African bush, yet within the resort there are four top quality
hotels, and amazing sporting and recreational facilities including two
golf courses and the magical Lost City, our particular favourite.
You get the best of everything at Sun City. We find we're spoilt for
choice when its time to eat. Most restaurants are open to guests at all
hotels and two that we can heartily recommend are the Crystal Restaurant,
which serves international cuisine in a lovely setting with views over
the jungle, and the very popular Villa del Palzzo Italian restaurant.
However, as with all the hotel restaurants, we suggest you reserve a table
or you could be disappointed.
We're not big gamblers but like most people we enjoy a little flutter
now and again. We therefore can't resist a visit to Sun City's casino.
It's one of the largest in the southern hemisphere and offers you a choice
of roulette, blackjack, punto banco, stud poker and many more ways to
lose a few quid. Don't get carried away though or a few quid can become
a lot! In the entertainment centre there are also slot machines, novelty
and arcade games, cinemas, a bingo lounge and fast food arcades.
We love the entertainment too - there are shows every night with glamorous
dancers, novelty acts, magic and illusion and the harlequins disco.
When we're feeling energetic we can choose from a host of sports and
leisure facilities includding tennis, squash , horse riding, bowls, jet
skiing, waterskiing, parasailing and wind surfing. Don't miss the popular
Valley of the waves- it's a water park within the complex where you can
surf two metre high waves or simply relax on the lazy river.
But if you want the ultimate African experience during your golf holidays
in South Africa, we recommend that you take a trip out into the jungle.
The resort is next to the Pilanesberg National Park, home of the big five
wild animals, and game drives can be arranged if you're up for the thrill.
For truly exhilarating golf holidays South Africa is very hard to beat.
